Temporary residency refers to a status granted to foreign nationals who are allowed to live in Canada for a temporary period, as opposed to permanent residency which allows individuals to stay in Canada indefinitely.
There are several categories under which a foreign national can enter Canada as a temporary resident. The most common types of temporary residency are:

Depending on their citizenship, foreign nationals need one of the following two documents to enter Canada:
1. Visitor Visa (Visitor Visa / TRV): This is an official travel document required for citizens coming from visa-required countries to enter Canada. This visa is stamped on your passport and generally allows you to stay in Canada for up to 6 months.
2. Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA): This is a mandatory travel authorization for citizens coming from visa-exempt countries. The eTA is not stamped on your passport but is electronically linked to your passport. It is mandatory for entering Canada by air and is valid for up to 5 years or until your passport expires
Super Visa

The Super Visa is a special type of visa designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, allowing them to visit Canada for extended periods. Unlike a regular Visitor Visa (which typically allows for stays of up to 6 months), the Super Visa permits the holder to stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time, with multiple entries permitted for a total validity of up to 10 years (depending on the applicant's passport validity).

A Student Permit is an official document that allows foreign nationals to study in Canada at a designated learning institution (DLI). This permit grants the holder the legal right to engage in academic, professional, vocational, or other forms of education or training in Canada.

Temporary Resident Permit (TRP)

A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) is issued to individuals who are inadmissible to Canada for reasons such as criminal history, health issues, or past immigration violations, but are allowed to enter Canada for a specific purpose (e.g., to attend a funeral, for family emergencies, or for a business
opportunity).
